Muppets Night at Whitecaps Game!

For my brother’s 7th birthday, we went to the Grand Rapids Whitecaps baseball game with the theme of Muppets Night. The Whitecaps were playing the Cedar Rapids Kernels. When we arrived, we discovered that it was also Polish Heritage Night. They had Polish dancers performing to various polkas. When we walked in, Kermit the Frog was there to greet us. We showed Kermit the cake of himself that my mom had made for Daniel. We had great seats above the third base dugout. The evening started with the Polish national anthem and then the American national anthem. In the 4th inning, the Whitecaps scored six runs! The Whitecaps won with a score of 9-1.

Throughout the game, on the jumbo tron they played Muppets clips of the Swedish Chef, Beaker and others including Kermit. The big screen also displayed people’s birthdays with “Daniel McDonough – 7” for everyone to see. The Fifth/Third Ballpark has many theme nights and you should definitely check one of them out this summer.
